The Venezuelan Ministry of Education announced that Venezuelan migrants will be able to opt for a bachelor’s degree via receiving virtual classes, with the aim of providing them with access to quality education.
Through a videoconference on Wednesday, July 10, the Ministry of Education presented to the Venezuelan diplomatic corps the new virtual bachelor’s courses for Venezuelan migrants to access.
The ministry also presented the EdĂşcate Platform, an innovative technological tool that will offer more than 900 digital educational resources to promote inclusive, creative, critical, and reflective learning for Venezuelans.

Deputy Minister of Secondary Education Nancy Ortuño, accompanied by Deputy Minister of Integral Attention for Venezuelan Migrants Pedro Sassone and the directors of the Educational Quality Development Centers in Venezuela, presented the platform.
This modality of virtual bachelor’s courses is aimed at Venezuelan nationals abroad and adults without a degree.
“The great mission is the projection of all public policy institutions abroad. We will have the opportunity to discuss it. It is necessary to change the educational model to articulate a platform with complexity, scope, need for technical expertise, and participation,” said Pedro Sassone.
Sassone explained that the program will have two central dimensions: social protection and access to education as a fundamental right to improve the quality of life. The program will also cover social protection for Venezuelans returning to the country.

Deputy Minister of Secondary Education Nancy Ortuño highlighted some important characteristics of the platform, such as its accessibility regardless of where Venezuelans are, their social and economic status, or age.
It is also available to everyone, as it responds to the needs of students, families, and teachers.
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has shared several plans to support Venezuelan migrants as well as those who have returned to the country and face problems of reintegration.
One of these programs is the Vuelta a la Patria Great Mission, which has four cornerstones: guaranteed legal assistance and identity, comprehensive support in education, culture and sports, comprehensive socioeconomic protection for return, and a communication and logistics plan.
