The principal rector of the National Electoral Council (CNE) of Venezuela, Conrado Pérez, published the electoral schedule for the parliamentary and governor elections of April 27, 2025.
The rector stated that several elections are to be held this year. Simultaneously with the preparations for April 27, the arbitration for the constitutional reform announced by President Nicolás Maduro will also begin next week.
He explained that, as the matter stands now, 277 deputies of the National Assembly will be elected on April 27. However, this number “could vary,” given the integration of Guayana Esequiba in the list of states.
“Guayana [Esequiba state] is constitutionally required to have deputies, but the corresponding delimitation of electoral districts has to be elaborated and, based on this, the number of deputies to be elected in that state will be determined by population,” he explained.
Voting table members are being called
The rector stated that, within the subordinate electoral bodies, a total of 906,030 voting table members will be summoned for these elections. These people are the same ones who served in this role in the July 28, 2024 presidential election.
“An audit was carried out with the participation of political parties, and it was determined that, with an election so early in the year, the electoral body will confirm those personnel who already had the experience in the past elections,” Pérez said.
He especially invited young people to register their names in the Electoral Registry before the cut-off dates determined by the schedule.
