In order to verify their polling station data to vote in the presidential elections on July 28, Venezuelan voters must visit the official website of the National Electoral Council (CNE), click on the link of Electoral Registry and enter their ID number.
To find the voting table, citizens should check the voter list placed at the entrance of the polling station on Sunday, July 28.
Then, they have to stand in queue at the polling place according to the last two numbers of their voter identity card.
Below is the process established by the CNE for voters to participate in the coming election.
Steps for voting
Voter identification at polling station
- The voter hands the identity card to the president of the voting station.
- The integrated system operator (OSI) displays and enters the ID card number in the Integrated Authentication System (SAI) device.
- The voter places the right thumb on the device to authenticate the data.
- The chairperson explains how to vote if any voter requires it.
- The chairperson returns the ID card to the voter and instructs him/her to proceed to the voting station.
At the voting table
- The voter touches on the screen of the voting machine the political party symbol box of the candidate of his/her choice.
- The voter verifies the selection made on the voting machine screen.
- The voter checks the vote box at the bottom of the voting machine screen.
- the voter takes out the voting slip and takes it to the deposit machine.

At the voting slip deposition table
- The voter checks the voting slip.
- The voter folds the slip and deposits it in the voting slip deposit box.
- The voter goes to the fingerprint recording table.
At the fingerprint recording table
- The voter hands the laminated identity card to the table member.
- The member displays the ID card number and locates the voter’s data in the voter list.
- The voter signs and puts his/her fingerprint in the corresponding boxes, receives the identity card from the table member, and leaves the polling station.
How to locate preferred candidate on the ballot and vote
According to the CNE Polling Station Manual, the procedure is as follows:
- The screen of the voting machine will show the candidates corresponding to the symbols of the political parties running for the office of President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
- The voter has to select his/her preferred candidate and verify that it appears on the screen of the voting machine.
- The voter will touch the VOTE box at the bottom of the voting machine screen and wait for the voting receipt to be issued. Then, the voter will remove it, review it, fold it, and deposit it in the Voting Slip Deposit Box.
Voting system audits
On Thursday, July 25 ,the CNE presented a report of the audits of the voting system.
On March 18, the Software Audit for the Selection of the Members of the Subordinate Electoral Bodies was carried out. Thereafter, from April 29 to May 3, the software audits of the voting machines were carried out.
During May 2-9, the Electoral Registry audit was conducted, and during June 25-28, electoral data ADES Phase I was audited.
On June 26, the voting machine configuration audit was carried out. From July 1 to 3, the audits of the voting table lists, and from July 4 to 17, the voting machine production audit were done.
Thereafter, from July 9 to 12, the audit of the totalization software, from July 15 to 17 the audit of the electoral technological infrastructure, and on July 21 the pre-dispatch audit were carried out.
On Friday, July 26, the audit of the zeroing of the National Totalization Center is scheduled, while on Saturday, July 27, the Phase I telecommunications audit will be done.
On July 28, after the vote, the voter verification audit Phase I will be done, and on the following day July 29, the telecommunications audit Phase II will be conducted.
On August 2, the citizen verification audit Phase II will be carried out. Finally, during August 5-8, the audit of electoral data ADES Phase II will be done.
