The National Assembly of Venezuela appointed the Citizen Power Evaluation and Nomination Committee with the aim of designating the new attorney general, ombudsperson, and comptroller general of Venezuela.
During the regular session of the National Assembly on Thursday, October 10, the swearing-in of the committee members took place.
Deputy Giussepe Alessandrello will chair the committee, while José Gregorio Correa will serve as its vice president.
The other members of the committee are Deputies Desirée Santos Amaral, José Villarroel, María Vega, Gloria de Durán, Nitzia Maldonado, Yionkelys Vanesa Gutiérrez, Nancy Ascencio, Fernando Bastidas, Alfonso Campos, Carolina García Carreño, and Timoteo Zambrano.
This parliamentary committee was formed in accordance with Article 279 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and Article 23 of the Organic Law of the Citizen Power.
The committee will have up to 30 days to present the nominations to the plenary for their subsequent election.
