The United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV)’s chief of Venezuela Nuestra’s presidential campaign staff, Jorge Rodríguez, invited all the factions of the Venezuelan opposition to sign an agreement committing to recognize the results of the upcoming presidential election scheduled for July 28.
“We are going to sign a document to recognize the results of July 28, and we are going to invite the opposition to recognize those results,” said Jorge Rodríguez, while reviewing the PSUV 1×10 electoral strategy at the Sucre Parish in Caracas.
Rodríguez urged the bases of the PSUV and the Great Patriotic Pole, the broad coalition supporting President Maduro, to work hard to guarantee the votes in Caracas, adding that in the capital city more than 650 thousand votes must be obtained against the extremist opposition, while adding that Nicolás Maduro “will beat up” all the opposition candidates.
The far-right Venezuelan opposition belonging to the Unitary Platform (PUD) since the times of Hugo Chavez has a modus operandi of not recognizing electoral results that do not favor them. Despite multiple elections where PUD candidates have resulted victorious, in mayoral offices, governor offices, and national assembly seats, the PUD has a tradition of claiming fraud on each election they do not win.
“Nicolás Maduro is going to roll over all those cowards next Sunday, July 28. I say this with all responsibility,” Rodríguez pointed out. “That does not mean that we have already won the elections, we have to struggle for that electoral result, we have to fight for it and build every minute, every day, every week, of the seven weeks that we have until victory on July 28,” he urged the PSUV bases.
Rodriguez stressed that the decisive fight is on July 28, which is why he urged them to prepare for that fight so that “the beating is gigantic and they will no longer have the desire to bother the Chavista, revolutionary people of Simón Bolívar and Hugo Chávez.”
He recalled how the US Government tried to bribe President Maduro to abandon the presidency, “but this is a man loyal to the people of Venezuela and who will never betray the homeland or the legacy of Commander Chávez,” while recognizing the great work of the head of state together with the Venezuelan people in the defense of the newly created Guayana Esequiba state.
President Maduro: Electoral Victory Must Be Immense and in Peace
Rodriguez added that the extremist opposition are “the same ones who asked for invasions and sanctions, now they believe that the people are going to reward them with their vote,” in this sense he urged people to work “hard with the Popular Power to guarantee the irrevocable victory of the revolutionary leader Nicolás Maduro.”
During a political activity, PSUV’s vice president of regional and municipal affairs, Carmen Meléndez, emphasized that they are the “great team that is building victory, working 1×10 for good government. We are going to comply with the electoral 1×10, organize the machinery, to set an example on a national scale, with the social movements, the patriotic parties. Everyone is working tirelessly, without letting our guard down for the ratification of our president Nicolás Maduro.”
Likewise, she recalled that President Maduro is going to carry out a 1×10 electoral drill this June 9, scheduled by the National Electoral Council (CNE), ahead of the presidential elections.
Electoral roll live
A total of 21,392,464 Venezuelans will be able to go to the polls in the upcoming elections according to the figures from the final Electoral Registry published in Electoral Gazette No. 1057 dated June 1, 2024 by the CNE.
The Electoral Registry also indicates that 69,211 people will be able to vote abroad while 22,144 voters were signed out due to deaths and other objections.
The CNE made available to voters the definitive Electoral Registry for the presidential elections called for on July 28, through a device where the interested party can verify themselves with their identity card number. On the institution’s website, this Sunday the link was displayed where users can verify their personal data, address and voting center.
