Justices from the Venezuelan Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) went to the National Electoral Council (CNE) headquarters to validate the voting records against the data received by the national counting centers on the presidential election day ofJuly 28.
Head of state Nicolás Maduro filed a contentious election appeal, and it is currently under investigation. Leading the investigative process are a group of magistrates of the Electoral Chamber headed by Caryslia Beatriz Rodríguez, Fanny Márquez, and Inocencio Figueroa. In a video posted on social media earlier today, they can be seen, accompanied by international experts and observers, entering the headquarters of the CNE in Plaza Caracas, Caracas.
The post shows the magistrates of the Electoral Chamber of the TSJ entering the data center where all the technological infrastructure of the national totalization center number 1 of the CNE is located.
This area is called the electoral bubble, the space where the electoral institution’s servers operate.

They also entered the management area of CNE’s totalization center where experts, magistrates, and international observers will validate that the physical records match the digital ones and verify that the results correspond to those announced by the CNE in its first and second bulletins.
Specialist technicians from the CNE facilitated the management of the sophisticated electoral platform to support the verification procedure for the TSJ experts.
This is the area where all the voting records are transmitted by the voting machines and where the process of receiving the votes takes place once they have gone through all the security protocols and are evaluated and counted.
The procedure carried out in the security area of CNE’s aggregation center number 1 was observed in real time by witnesses from various political organizations that participated in the electoral event on July 28.
On Saturday, August 17, 60% of the voting records had been transcribed by the technical operators of the Electoral Chamber of the TSJ as part of the investigation of the electoral appeal requested by the President Maduro.
At the end of this transcription process, when 100% of the voting records that were issued in the bulletins of the National Electoral Council (CNE) are completed, the international electoral experts will analyze the data to verify the trends of the political organizations that participated in the elections, the TSJ reported on Saturday.
This phase of the technical appraisal will consist of validating the total number of vote counts with the results existing in the database of the CNE’s national aggregation centers to certify the accuracy of the data in the voting records and those transmitted by the voting machines.
