This Monday, October 21, Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez arrived in Kazan, Russia, to participate in the 16th Summit of the BRICS group, which will take place from October 22 to 24.
Through social media, Rodríguez expressed her gratitude for the welcome she received from Russian officials.
“We have arrived in Kazan, Russia, to participate in the momentous 16th BRICS Summit, where a new world of legality and a new international economic order is being shaped,” said Rodríguez, who is also Minister for Petroleum, accompanied by Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil.
She stated that Venezuela forges its diplomatic and geopolitical foundations on antihegemony and “on the sovereign equality of nations.”
Representatives from over 20 countries will participate in the meeting, where officials are expected to discuss current regional and global issues and various areas of cooperation.
The bloc was initially made up of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, but in January this year, Egypt, Iran, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Ethiopia joined.
