The Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez urged the peoples of the world to combat the extremist current of fascism by creating a great anti-fascist movement that will defend peace for humanity.
Rodríguez made these remarks on Tuesday, September 10, at the opening ceremony of the World Congress Against Fascism, Neo-Fascism and Similar Expressions, at the La Carlota Convention Center, Caracas.
“Welcome to Venezuela, to this world congress, may our voices be raised and united to overthrow this extremist current of fascism,” said Rodríguez before delegations from 95 countries. She added that “We must unite as one mind and one soul to prevent fascism from spreading its tentacles throughout the planet.”
“There are neo-fascist leaders in 17 countries on our continent,” said the vice president, noting that “the people of Argentina deserve to live in freedom, to be vindicated and not violated or humiliated at the hands of a great fascist like Milei.”
“The task is difficult, but there can be no more sublime objective than the defense of the human being. Love must prevail for development,” she said.
The vice president added that “Europe is sinking because of its subordination to the United States, and that is why the European people are where they are.” However, she said that there is a new world emerging with “the BRICS+ and the symbolic battles that Russia is waging against NATO, the United States and neo-fascism.”
Rodriguez mentioned that the battle of free peoples for human existence is taking place all over the planet. “If fascism takes over the planet, there will not be a square meter left where we can breathe,” she said.
She condemned the fact that capitalism is driving this extremist movement, which, with the help of large amounts of capital, has transformed the world’s technology and has consequences for geopolitics.
For the vice president, such actions by fascism “have to do with a deep crisis of capitalism, where inequality prevails.”
“It represents the most serious threat that humanity must face as a consequence of the predominance of capitalism and its neoliberal and imperialist development model, where they take over and occupy our minds to direct what is justifiable, which is growth with inequality and poverty,” she said.
Palestine
The vice president, who asked those attending the forum to applaud the Palestinian people, said that Palestine is the expression of a people in resistance against fascism, a people that never gives up.
On this subject, she condemned the fact that the media promotes “death and hatred to an extent that we as human beings find difficult to understand.”
“The Palestinian people deserve solidarity in all countries of the world,” she said, commenting that the transnational media companies distort reality.
She also said that the tragedy in Palestine has shown “what fascism and Zionism are all about, and the power of the Western media and the international financial system, which supports and backs this massacre.”
Venezuela
In her speech, the vice president also referred to Venezuela, and how it has faced coups d’état, assassination attempts, imperial invasions, economic wars and economic blockades.
“Elections were held and we said what was going to happen, a plot where extremists imposed the dictatorship of algorithms on social media platforms, they invested millions of dollars, and this operation of attack and threats against Venezuela was directed from the United States,” she added.
“They financed more than a billion dollars to overthrow the government, and put Western governments tied to the United States at the service of force,” she explained.
Rodríguez considered that what happened in the country from July 29 to August 2 demonstrated what the Venezuelan people are capable of: never giving up, never being blackmailed by even the most ferocious and aggressive powers.
“The big technology corporations came after us and gave us 30 million attacks per minute, an unprecedented situation,” she said, adding that the in spite of all these attacks, Venezuela will maintain peace and tranquility.
