Venezuelan Vice President Delcy RodrĂguez visited Lenovo’s Future Center in Shanghai, where she met with the company’s Vice President Mao Shijie to discuss common interests and explore new opportunities for cooperation between the two nations.
This Monday, April 28, RodrĂguez reviewed a series of products and evaluated the services offered by the multinational company, including the latest advances and achievements in industry, education, and agriculture.
During her tour of the technology giant’s headquarters, the executive vice president observed the intelligent transformation the company has implemented in strategic sectors.
Venezuela is exploring the incorporation of this technology into its bilateral agenda with China, which could open new avenues for technological and economic development. Lenovo is distinguished by its commitment to innovation, with its Shanghai headquarters serving as a major research and development base, with 12,700 employees dedicated to boosting the real economy through collaborations with industries, universities, and research centers.
In recent years, Venezuela and China have signed more than 600 cooperation agreements in multiple areas, including agreements with investors at the Shanghai Trade Fair held in November 2024.
Venezuela seeks to strengthen technological ties with China during a visit to Westwell
Venezuela and China continue to strengthen their technological and commercial ties. On this occasion, the founder and CEO of the innovative company Westwell, Tan Liming, later received RodrĂguez at the company’s Shanghai headquarters.
During the meeting, RodrĂguez learned about the advanced autonomous solutions the company has developed and the significance that these innovations could have for Venezuela’s economic and technological advancement. This demonstrates the Venezuelan government’s commitment to sustainability and the modernization of the logistics sector, according to the Venezuelan state news channel VTV.
Venezuela’s Vice President RodrĂguez Arrives in Shanghai on Official Tour to China
Westwell was founded in 2016 and specializes in autonomous driving and smart logistics solutions, focusing on autonomous vehicles, especially heavy-duty trucks, designed to operate in complex environments such as seaports, manufacturing plants, and distribution centers.
Westwell’s solutions are used by at least 200 customers in more than 20 countries, and its autonomous driving system significantly improves efficiency and productivity in logistics operations while reducing carbon emissions. The company’s technological offering combines artificial intelligence with renewable energy to provide more efficient and sustainable transportation.
