The Republic of Yemen issued a statement condemning the recent US aggressions against the people of Venezuela and the country’s constitutional president, Nicolás Maduro.
On Wednesday, August 20, the National Team for Foreign Outreach (NTFO) of Yemen issued a statement in which it “unequivocally condemns, with the utmost firmness, and categorically rejects the hostile actions of the United States government” against Venezuela, particularly the announcement of a “financial reward for the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.”
According to the statement, “this measure represents a flagrant violation of national sovereignty and a flagrant transgression of international law.” This refers to the announcement made on August 7 by the US Attorney General Pamela Bondi, offering a reward of US $50 million for information leading to the arrest of the democratically elected president of Venezuela.
The statement further highlighted that these actions reflect the hegemonic mentality of the US empire, which “claims to have the right to interfere in the internal affairs of independent nations, particularly those that refuse to submit to its colonialist agenda.” It called the measure illegal and illegitimate, emphasizing that the Venezuelan president is not subject to the jurisdiction of the US judicial system.

Finally, the statement calls on the international community, organizations, and governments that defend peace to join in the condemnation of these interventionist actions that weaponize the judiciary for political purposes and try to undermine the principles of sovereignty.
This statement comes amid months of US aggression against the Yemeni people due to their supportive actions for the Palestinian people suffering a genocide at the hands of the Zionist entity.
In this regard, as Israel’s main ally, Washington has escalated its bombings on Yemen since March 15 of this year, resulting in hundreds of civilians being killed. In this way, the Trump administration attempted—unsuccessfully—to break the maritime and aerial blockade that Yemen has imposed on the Zionist regime in response to the genocide in Gaza.
