156 New Coronavirus Cases Registered in Venezuela on Tuesday (150 Imported Cases)

Venezuelan Minister for Communication Jorge Rodríguez, reported that in the last 24 hours in Venezuela six new Covid-19 community transmission cases were registered along with 150 imported cases. 136 of them come from Colombia, 9 by contact with travelers, 3 cases from Ecuador and 2 from Peru, with this number the country amounts to a total of 1,818 cases.
“Today we must report 6 new cases of Covid-19 by community transmission and 150 imported cases, of which 136 come from Colombia, 3 from Ecuador and 2 from Peru,” he said.
He called for reflection on the danger posed by the worrying exponential curves presented by neighboring nations, in view of the fact that “we are surrounded by the epicenter of the pandemic, Brazil, Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Colombia”, a reality before which the national government has implemented the Comprehensive Social Care Points (PASI) program, he stressed.

From Miraflores Palace Rodriguez reported a new patient who died as a result of Covid-19, a resident of the El Recreo parish in Caracas, a 98-year-old male who had complications from diabetes mellitus type II and anemia.
The minister detailed that out of 1,819 cases registered in Venezuela to date, 334 have recovered, 977 are being treated in sentinel hospitals, 475 in Comprehensive Diagnosis Centers, 15 in private clinics and 18 are deceased.
“Out of 1,467 active cases of covid-19, 1,327 are asymptomatic, 135 have mild respiratory failure and 5 have moderate respiratory failure,” he noted.
In turn, Jorge Rodríguez stressed that “the importance of the necessary social distancing, as the main keys to success in the quarantine flexibilization phase under the 5 x 10 modality, to move to a later phase of greater flexibility,” he said.

He pointed out that almost 54,000 Venezuelans have entered through the border areas through Táchira, Apure, Zulia, Bolívar, La Guaira and Amazonas.
Since the first cases of Covid-19 were detected in the country, Venezuela has carried out 987,902 diagnostic tests for the virus, which translates to 32,930 tests per million inhabitant, making Venezuela the country with the most tests carried out throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
“Venezuela is the country that has applied the most tests in Latin America and the Caribbean — 987 thousand 902 tests — which is equivalent to 32,930 tests per million inhabitants,” he stressed.
“It is a scourge that attacks the lives of human beings, we congratulate all the people of Venezuela, as well as the economic sectors and banks, for strictly complying with hourly protocols, the use of face masks and hygiene standards, like washing hands and using gel with alcohol,” said Rodríguez.
