A total of 191 Venezuelan citizens arrived in the city of Barcelona, Anzoátegui state, from the United States, on flight number 167 of the Return to the Homeland Great Mission.
On Wednesday, August 19, the authorities of the mission formally received the aircraft and conducted the entry procedures for the repatriated Venezuelans.
The staff deployed at the airport terminal implemented the necessary logistical measures to ensure the proper reception of the returnees.
The Return to the Homeland Great Mission reported that the returnees were received “with the best professional protocol of comprehensive protection” until their final transfer. The protocol includes technical, medical, and operational support to movement of the repatriated people to their respective homes.
The mission added that actions are being carried out to facilitate the social reintegration of the returnees in their communities.
The mission’s statement emphasized that the repatriation allows the citizens to have “a new great opportunity to continue their education, work, and be happy.”
The official strategy has the objective of boosting the economic inclusion of returnees in the various productive activities of the country.
The authorities expressed their satisfaction with the conduction of the return flight and indicated that the doors remain open for future repatriation transfers. The program reaffirmed that the absolute priority now is for each repatriate to be able to reunite “in their home, with their people.” The social work teams will continue to monitor the cases to ensure ongoing assistance in each region.
