The precautionary measures for the opposition deputy will be in effect for the duration of the investigation.
The Supreme Court of Justice of Venezuela agreed on Tuesday the application of precautionary measures for the duration of the investigation to the opposition deputy in contempt Juan GuaidĂł, who last week proclaimed himself “interim president” of the country.
The TSJ decreed as precautionary measures against GuaidĂł the prohibition of leaving the country without authorization until the end of the investigation; prohibition of sales of his property, and blocking of bank accounts in Venezuela.

Earlier, Attorney General Tarek William Saab informed the opening of the investigation to GuaidĂł for his responsibility in “events that have damaged the peace of the Republic,” as violent acts and freezing of State assets, and asked the Supreme Court to apply the precautionary measures.
GuaidĂł proclaimed himself “interim president” last week with the backing of the US government, which leads a coup against Venezuela, according to denunciations by the government of President Nicolás Maduro.
