The leftist Citizen Revolution Movement (RC5) of presidential candidate Luisa González obtained 67 seats in the Ecuadorian National Assembly out of a total of 151, thus becoming the largest single party in the parliament. However, it fell short of the simple majority mark of 76; no political party reached that mark.
“After a close contest, and with almost all the votes counted, the Citizen Revolution Movement remains the largest bloc in the Ecuadorian parliament, with 67 seats,” reported Telesur’s correspondent in Quito, Elena Rodríguez Yáñez. “The results of the general elections held on Sunday, February 9, 2025, show that the new assembly will have two large blocks integrated by ADN [National Democratic Action], the party of the current president, Daniel Noboa, and the Citizen Revolution of Luisa González

Noboa’s ADN obtained 66 seats. Although it will proceed with a small disadvantage compared to the Citizen Revolution, the ADN has significantly increased its parliamentary representation compared to the previous period. However, neither of the two political parties could reach the necessary absolute majority to pass laws without making alliances.
The indigenous movement Pachakutik has so far obtained nine seats, emerging as the third-largest political force in the National Assembly, and the Social Christian Party (PSC) obtained four seats. Meanwhile, movements such as Construye and Unidad Popular, together with other local organizations, have achieved a minor representation in the parliament.

The new National Assembly will be inaugurated on May 14, 2025. It will be constituted by 151 legislators, including 15 national, 130 provincial, and six from abroad (two from Europe, Asia, and Oceania; two from the United States and Canada; and two from Latin America and Africa, representing Ecuadorians abroad).
The final official results will be declared after the completion of the vote count at the national level and after all complaints and challenges have been resolved by the National Electoral Council.
The distribution of the seats in the National Assembly demonstrates that the Ecuadorian political panorama is broadly polarized between the two currents: RC and ADN.
This polarization is also evident in the results of the presidential election held on February 9, which ended in a technical tie between Luisa González and Daniel Noboa. The second round will be held on April 13.
