The National Electoral Council (CNE) of Venezuela announced that an electoral drill will be held on May 10 so that voters can familiarize themselves with the process of the May 25 mega-elections.
In a statement released on Wednesday, April 30, the CNE invited “all citizens to actively participate in the Electoral Drill for the National Assembly and State Elections of 2025, to become familiar with the process and live the experience of the automated vote before May 25.”
This exercise will allow the electoral body to check the operation of the voting machines, evaluate the results tabulation platform, verify the efficiency of the transmission process, test the technical and logistic operability of the process, and to ensure that each phase respects the will of the people.
Benefits of participation
The CNE pointed out that each voter will be able to get familiar with the four steps of the voting process, to confirm the transparency and speed of the system, and thus contribute to the strengthening of a reliable and modern democracy.
Steps of the voting process
There are four steps in the voting process. The first one is the verification station, the second is the voting station, the third is the voting receipt deposit station, and the fourth one is the voting records station.
The CNE also released a list of voting centers that will be set up for the drill.
