Four New Confirmed Covid-19 Cases in Venezuela this Sunday – 159 Total

In the last 24 hours, four new cases of Covid-19 were registered in the country, to increase the number of infections to 159 throughout the country while the number of recovered patients went up to 52, 33% of the total number of registered cases. The information was released by the executive vice president, Delcy RodrÃguez, at the end of the meeting of the Presidential Commission for the Control and Prevention of Covid-19, in Miraflores Palace.
She remarked that out of the total cases, 34 patients are receiving treatment in Comprehensive Diagnostic Centers (CDI), 31 are kept in home isolation, 21 have been admitted to hospitals, 14 are in private clinics, while the figure of deceased remains at 7.

Rodriguez pointed out that the four cases reported in the last 24 hours are:
1) Male, 29 years old, a native of the state of Merida but an inhabitant of the state of Nueva Esparta, by profession an artisan, who lives in an area near a hotel where the first case in that area was reported.
2) Male, 31 years old, from Sucre state, who has a history of contact with a traveler from Brazil.
3) 66-year-old female, Baruta municipality, Miranda state, contact with her husband diagnosed positive.
4) Male, 31 years old, Miranda state, Baruta municipality, with no travel history or contact with any traveler.
The vice president mentioned also that to date 54,248 diagnostic tests of Covid-19 have been applied throughout the country, which places Venezuela as the country in Latin America with the most tests per inhabitant, with 1,750 per million.
“Only today we have already carried out 15,431 tests, ” RodrÃguez said, referring to the massive testing campaign using the Patria system.
