Far-right leader MarĂa Corina Machado, not satisfied with the illegal coercive economic measures (euphemistically referred to as “sanctions”) that she has asked to be imposed on her own country, has also called on the United States to pursue Venezuelan migrants and apply the law with “greater severity.”
In a statement, Machado, along with former presidential candidate Edmundo González Urrutia (EGU), expressed their support for the measures carried out by the Trump administration against Venezuelan migrants. “The criminals and corrupt officials who have ruined Venezuela and committed crimes abroad must face justice,” reads the statement.
They also called on all governments to copy the inhumane measures imposed by US authorities: “We support the measures that, within the framework of the law and due process, are being carried out by the democratic governments of the United States, Chile, and other allies in the cause for freedom in Venezuela, to identify, detain, and penalize those who are part of or support the Tren de Aragua and other criminal networks dependent on or associated with Nicolás Maduro,” the statement reads.
It is important to remember that the Trump administration transferred 238 alleged members of the Tren de Aragua gang to a maximum-security prison in El Salvador.

Alert
Following the increase in violent incidents and the implementation of regulations that restrict fundamental rights, the Venezuelan government warned its citizens about the risks they could face if they travel to the United States, urging them to exercise extreme caution.
At the same time, it reaffirmed its commitment to Venezuelans around the world and condemned the US’s unjust actions against migrants, categorizing them as illegal and as violations of basic human rights.
The Maduro government also indicated that it is pursuing cases of arbitrary detentions and deportations without justification, as well as discriminatory and humiliating treatment by US authorities against its citizens.
