Venezuelan Education Minister Héctor Rodríguez reported that more than 200,000 children and young people who had dropped out of the school system have returned to the classroom, increasing enrollment to 5.8 million students.
In a message posted on his Telegram account this Monday, November 4, Rodriguez said continued improvement in this indicator is the responsibility of everyone, including parents, teachers, and the entire community.
During a tour of the Francisco Pimentel National Educational Unit in Caracas’ Libertador municipality, and accompanied by its Director Marlyn Yánez, the head of education said that he has observed commitment on the part of the entire work team, teachers, and students:
“In two months at the head of the Ministry of Education, what I see in most schools is a very similar dynamic: a school dynamic, love, commitment. By a look at the children, one knows when entering a school if the children feel protected… I want to give public recognition to all the teachers of Venezuela for the beautiful effort that we are making.”
The minister added that children and young people are a priority for society as a whole, not just for the educational system.
He also reiterated that more than 90% of schools are complying with the full schedule launched by the administration.
