Palestinian factions slam the Israeli aggression on Syria’s Masyaf, framing it as an extension of “Israel’s” broader assault on Palestinians and Lebanese people.
The Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement has denounced the recent Israeli airstrikes on Masyaf in western Hama, Syria, labeling the assault as a “war crime” that compounds the “criminal acts” perpetrated by “Israel” in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon.
The movement asserted that the aggression underscores “Israel’s role as an enemy to all peoples of the region,” seeking to impose its dominance through violence and intimidation.
Furthermore, they criticized the international and Arab community’s silence, as well as the US support for “Israel”, which they believe emboldens further aggression.
The movement expressed strong solidarity with Syria’s leadership and people.
PFLP: ‘A desperate Israeli attempt to escape crisis’
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine also condemned the Israeli attack, calling it a “desperate attempt by the occupation to escape its battlefield crises.”
They expressed full support for Syria, highlighting that the strike on Masyaf reflects the Israeli enemy’s “confusion and impotence”.
Moreover, the PFLP accused the US of coordinating with “Israel” and providing cover for its ongoing crimes in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon, stating their belief that Syria will emerge from this aggression “stronger and more determined to continue its role in supporting the Resistance.”
Palestinian Resistance Committees
On its part, the Palestinian Resistance Committees condemned the “barbaric” strike on Hama, mourning the casualties and characterizing the attack as an assault on all nations.
They emphasized that the aggression is an extension of broader Israeli assault on the Palestinian and Lebanese people. The committees urged a unified response to the “brutal aggression,” asserting that the “criminal fascist entity” understands only the language of power and Resistance. They called on all nations to unite against Zionist schemes targeting regional resources, security, and land.
The Israeli strikes on Masyaf resulted in 16 civilian deaths and injuries to 36 others, including six in critical condition, occurring in the early hours from Sunday to Monday.
Iran slams the Israeli attack
Earlier today, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Nasser Kanaani, refuted Israeli media reports alleging that Iranian sites in Syria were targeted.
During a news conference in Tehran, Kanaani stated that Damascus announced that the recent “criminal” attack early Monday morning, which killed 16 people and injured 36 others, was aimed at research centers affiliated with the Syrian Ministry of Defense and military.
He condemned the Israeli aggression on Syria, specifically targeting Masyaf area near Hama, and denounced the Israeli attempts to link these actions to Iran as an attempt to divert from the actual situation.
Furthermore, Kanaani said, “We strongly condemn this criminal attack by the Zionist regime on Syrian soil”, calling on “Israel’s” backers to “stop supporting and arming it.”
