During the weekly program Con Maduro+ aired on Monday, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro condemned the sanctions issued by the US against UN rapporteur Francesca Albanese for denouncing the Israeli genocide in Palestine.
The president described the sanctions as the “end of the world!” in response to a journalist’s question. The United Nations special rapporteur on the Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, referred to the crimes carried out by the Zionist colony in Palestine as a genocide.
“The rapporteur on the Palestinian question produced a report with compelling evidence of the genocide Israel is committing against the Palestinian people, and they sanctioned her,” said President Maduro. “The end of the world!”
He repudiated the sanction, explaining that it was imposed “for showing compelling and conclusive evidence of the genocide Netanyahu is carrying out against the Palestinian people,” something that can only be explained as an attempt by the US to hide the truth about what is happening there. He mocked the inaction of the UN high commissioner for human rights, Volker Türk, who also failed to comment on this “unusual sanction.”
“It says nothing, it does nothing,” the president said.
The Venezuelan president joined the voices of condemnation against the attacks on the civilian population of Gaza, who are forced to stand in lines in search of food and water only to be massacred by the Israeli army. “They set traps with food and medicine, and when they go looking for it, they machine-gun or bomb them,” he said. President Maduro reflected that “the massacre against the Palestinian people is a massacre against all of us; it is a massacre as a demonstration so that the peoples of the world will surrender.”

Regarding Albanese, he described her as “a brave woman” who was not afraid to point out those who commit these “horrendous crimes.” “Young people like Francesca Albanese will be remembered in the future for their courage,” elaborated the president. “Her report should be made public. With that report, if we are able to communicate it, sooner rather than later we will have a victory for the Palestinian people.”
On the latter point, President Maduro said, “people are coming out … 72% of the US people support the Palestinian people… Today’s criminals and their accomplices will pay in the future.”
