This Monday, May 5, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro shared a video on social media emphasizing the importance of unity among Caribbean countries and the significance of cooperation between neighboring nations.
In the video, the president wrote that from Venezuela, “we fully envision the equality, cooperation, solidarity, complementarity, and mutual benefit of our countries and our region.”

In this regard, the president pointed out that it is essential to advance and deepen “energy security in every possible way.”
He also expressed his commitment to other countries of Latin America and the Carribean: “I’m always thinking of our brothers and sisters in Cuba, Nicaragua, Bolivia, and throughout the Caribbean,” reaffirming that “we are a region whose peoples of Our America are at the forefront of the 21st century.”
The message also emphasizes that “common effort and work lead to a common destiny,” thus promoting the Caribbean as a zone of peace, understanding, and harmony among peoples.
Finally, he accompanied the video with the message: “We envision the Caribbean as a space of brotherhood and cooperation, a region that, with this alliance as its fundamental support, can be the vanguard of the 21st century in a process of unwavering cooperation. This joint effort and work will lead us to a common destiny.”
