The US State Department announced on Friday May 3 new restrictions against Tehran in the framework of the “unprecedented pressure campaign to address the full range of destructive activities of Iran” related to its nuclear program.
As of May 4, any kind of assistance to the expansion of the Iranian nuclear power plant in Bushehr, beyond the maintenance of the existing reactor, could lead to sanctions. Exports of heavy water and enriched uranium from Iran in exchange for natural uranium could also be sanctioned.
