Communal assemblies are being held in over 5,000 communal circuits of Venezuela to postulate the projects that will be selected in the first popular consultation of 2025. The process began on Saturday, January 18, and will end this Tuesday, January 21.
Venezuelan Minister for Communes Ángel Prado reported that the projects to go to the popular consultation on February 2 will be nominated and selected during these assemblies.
Prado stated that the projects must be submitted to the online Communal Integration System (SINCO) by the deadline of January 21.
These community projects will be financed through the Federal Government Council (CFG) and are selected by the community.
Minister Infante also reported that after the assemblies, a general assessment will be made regarding the projects approved and uploaded to SINCO.
Finally, he added that many Communal Circuits in Venezuela are carrying out the required management and organizational processes to become Communes.
Electoral schedule for the National Popular Consultation
The alternate rector of the CNE, Carlos Quintero, explained that the Electoral Power will provide the necessary tools and resources to the Electoral Commissions of the Communes.
In addition, they will provide a manual explaining how to categorize the projects submitted to the system.
Quintero said that after the postulation process is completed, training will be provided to members of the polling station and the Electoral Commission, who will be in charge of totaling and awarding the projects.
On January 31, polling stations will be set up in the country’s 1,101 parishes, but this will not interrupt school activities, and the consultation will take place on Sunday, February 2.
