Venezuelan Deputy Foreign Minister for North America Carlos Ron said that Canada has no moral authority to question Venezuelan state institutions or the great democratic will of the Venezuelan people.
On his Telegram channel, the deputy minister wrote on Friday, August 23, that the Canadian government “has neither the basis nor the moral grounds to question Venezuelan institutions or the democratic will of its people.”
He added that the “dwarf empire” of Canada is the only government that prohibited Venezuelans from voting in its embassy in the 2018 presidential elections.
He further added that Canada has a history of genocide against the indigenous peoples in its territory.
Similarly, Minister Ron wrote that the Canadian government cannot disguise that it has colonialist intentions in Haiti, “that it pays homage to Ukrainian Nazis and was the proxy of the United States in the failed Lima Group.”
Some Latin American governments have aligned with the US administration and have attacked Venezuelan institutions following the presidential elections of July 28, said Ron.
Venezuela Repudiates New Attempt to Resuscitate ‘Lima Group’
Last Thursday, the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice ratified the victory of President Nicolás Maduro in the elections.
Earlier, the Venezuelan government, through a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, condemned the formation of a new group of governments from the American continent against the sovereignty and independence of Venezuela.
