The Foreign Minister of Venezuela, Iván Gil, announced on Wednesday that the embassy of Venezuela in Oslo, Norway, was invaded and vandalized by fascist elements.
Through his Telegram account, Foreign Minister Gil said: “Today our diplomatic headquarters in Oslo, Norway, was invaded and vandalized by fascist elements who were making clear what interests they respond to.”
He also stated that “the responsibility for the inviolability of diplomatic headquarters is of the receiving state, we hope that the authorities immediately find those responsible for these attacks.”
“The country and the world realize who these deranged fascists are, and that they are capable of attacking the interests of the Venezuelan people,” he added.
These attacks are added to those recorded on Saturday night, when the headquarters of the General Consulate of Venezuela in Lisbon, Portugal, was attacked with incendiary bombs.
In response to these events, the Portuguese government expressed its condemnation of the attack. The Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared: “The Portuguese government strongly condemns the attack against the Venezuelan Consulate in Lisbon. It has ordered an immediate reinforcement of security and the corresponding police investigation.”
Venezuelan embassies in Frankfurt (Germany), MedellĂn (Colombia), Vigo (Spain), and San JosĂ© (Costa Rica) have also been attacked.
Foreign Minister Gil, who has stated that this is “an action coordinated by the commandos of unhinged fascism,” has requested speedy investigations to find those responsible and to guarantee the integrity of the facilities “as established by the Vienna Convention.”
