Caracas (OrinocoTribune.com)—Venezuelan Foreign Affairs Minister Yván Gil published a statement on behalf of the Venezuelan government expressing condemnation of recent statements by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Through the statement issued on Tuesday, October 15, Venezuela urged the US official to desist from his statements that are detrimental to any possible rapprochement in diplomatic relations between the two nations.
On Monday, October 14, US diplomacy release a video statement by Secretary Blinken saying that after the July 28 elections, the Maduro administration “manipulated the results” of the elections, “repressed peaceful protesters and political opponents,” and “unjustly issued an arrest warrant against the opposition candidate” Edmundo González. González left the country after an agreement with Venezuelan authorities and is currently living in Spain, recurrently violating the terms of the asylum granted by the Kingdom of Spain.
“If we have one goal today, it is to ensure that the will and votes of the Venezuelan people are truly respected, that they can determine their own future,” said Blinken. “Nicolás Maduro is doing everything in his power to deny that right, to strengthen his own grip on power.”

The unofficial translation of the Venezuelan statement is below:
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela strongly rejects the latest statements by the Secretary of State of the United States of America, Antony Blinken, who, having become a charlatan at the service of nefarious lobbyists, repeating a false and monotonous narrative against the will of the Venezuelan people, insists on his complicity with the violent far-right extremists who have wanted to do so much harm to our country .
The victory of President Nicolás Maduro Moros on July 28 was not only a demonstration of the popular support enjoyed by the Bolivarian Revolution but also an exercise in dignity and an exemplary repudiation of the aggression that the US government has been applying for more than 10 years against Venezuela and that it now seeks to continue by reusing the failed Guaidó plan.
The obsessive policy of the Monroe Doctrine, as well as the neocolonial and imperial conduct of the United States government, are the bases of support for fascist groups in the constant attacks against Venezuelan institutions, including the manipulation of mainstream media and social media platforms, the use of mercenaries and assassination attempts, and destabilization plots. All these actions have been and will continue to be pulverized through the full exercise of revolutionary democracy enshrined in the Bolivarian Constitution.
Venezuela will continue to move towards economic, social, and political prosperity, despite the hostile operations and criminal hatred applied by the government of Mr. Blinken, who is urged, once again, to address the serious problems he faces, desisting once and for all from the constant interference in the affairs of Venezuelans, who loudly repeat to the US lackeys: They will not return!
