Venezuelan Foreign Affairs Minister Yván Gil held a meeting this Monday with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Vershinin.

“Within the framework of the political and diplomatic alliance of our peoples, we have held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Vershinin, with the aim of strengthening friendship and continuing to promote avenues of cooperation based on mutual benefit,” Gil wrote on his social media accounts.
Venezuela and Russia have signed more than 342 agreements in the last 20 years, including partnerships in the commercial, military-technical, energy, agricultural, food, transportation, scientific, technological, and public health areas.
In the process, Russia and Venezuela have built a solid relationship in bilateral aspects in areas of mutual interest. In addition, they share a willingness to achieve greater democracy on the international stage based on compliance with the principles of the UN Charter of the Organization of Nations, especially the principle of the equality and sovereignty of states.
