The head of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela’s (PSUV) “Our Venezuela” presidential campaign staff, Jorge Rodríguez, called for massive participation in the voting drill this Sunday. He reiterated the strength of PSUV’s robust electoral machine and called for Chavismo to “not only vote on July 28 but also stay in the streets in defense of the vote.”
This Friday, June 28, Rodríguez reported that the National Electoral Council (CNE) will deploy many voting machines during the electoral drill this Sunday so that voters become familiar with the process amid the the upcoming presidential election.
He explained that approximately 1,174 voting machines will be deployed in 666 parishes of the 335 municipalities of Venezuela.
The CNE organizes electoral drills before every election in Venezuela to familiarize the voters with the electoral process, test the functioning of the voting machines, test the voting system, and audit the proper operation of the software and electoral deployment.

Rodríguez said that the electoral machinery has been reinforced not only with the United Socialist Party of Venezuela but with other political and grassroots forces that are organizing with the PSUV’s voting strategy.
He also added that the electoral drill will evaluate the development of the PSUV’s 1x10x7 strategy to promote the Chavista vote.
Finally, Rodríguez reiterated that opposition sectors seek to disavow the elections and generate violence. “The opposition is planning to place a group of motorcyclists in some polling stations to generate violence, completely at odds with Venezuela’s democratic tradition.”
“Let them have no doubt that they are going to be neutralized by the Venezuelan State,” he added.
