Caracas (OrinocoTribune.com)—The vice president of Venezuela and its minister for oil, Delcy Rodríguez, arrived in Türkiye on Monday and was received by her counterpart, Cevdet Yilmaz, with whom she reviewed the nations’ bilateral agenda and discussed the expansion of strategic cooperation.
In a post on Instagram, the vice president noted that she met with Yilmaz at the Külliye Presidential Complex in Ankara “to review our bilateral agenda and discuss expanding our cooperation in strategic areas such as energy, education, tourism, food, and trade.”
“The relationship between Venezuela and Türkiye is a clear example of how cooperation based on mutual respect and solidarity can produce real benefits for both peoples, which is why we agreed to continue increasing our bilateral trade,” Rodríguez stated.
The Venezuelan vice president added that the joint vision of respect for the self-determination of peoples was reaffirmed. “We thanked the vice president for Türkiye’s consistent support and his firm stance in calling for an end to the illegal sanctions that the United States maintains against our people,” Rodríguez added.
Rodriguez also noted that Israel’s genocide against the Palestinian people was once again condemned and a call for a ceasefire was reiterated, while adding that Venezuelans “advocate for world peace.”
For his part, Vice President Yılmaz wrote on social media that “the democratic maturity and institutional capacity of Venezuela, which has emerged as a rising power in its region through its recent initiatives, bolsters our cooperation opportunities day by day.”
Yılmaz emphasized the need to further develop commercial relations, aiming to increase the trade volume between the two countries to US $3 billion during the coming period. He also expressed gratitude for Rodriguez’s visit and acknowledged Venezuelan President Maduro, his government, and the Venezuelan people for their stance against the zionist colony’s genocidal attacks on Palestine and Lebanon.
Meeting with Minister of Energy and Natural Resources
Also on Monday, Vice President Rodríguez held a working meeting with Türkiye’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparsian Bayraktar to review the bilateral energy agenda. During the meeting, new oil and natural gas projects were discussed, in which the importance of cooperation between both nations was highlighted.

Through her Telegram account, Rodríguez reported on the cordiality of the meeting and the review of the energy agenda: “Venezuela, with the largest proven hydrocarbon reserves in the world ,and Türkiye, with great industrial, scientific ,and technological development, among other strengths… have great complementarities to strengthen a solid strategic alliance.”
