Six Venezuelan minors who were held in the United States by the Trump administration have returned to Venezuela and reunited with their families, reported the Return to the Homeland Great Mission.
“Today we celebrate a miracle: six children who were kidnapped in the US have been rescued and are returning home,” the statement issued on Friday, August 8, specified.
The children are Milan Emmanuel Mora Hurtado, Dorielvis Ayari Silva GarcĂa, Yineimer JosĂ© BuendĂa Contreras, Diego JesĂşs Torrealba Contreras, Mariangela Susej Lobaton, and Ashley Hernández Peña.
“These little warriors have had a difficult experience, but now they are with their families and ready to begin a new stage full of love and hope,” added the statement, along with images of the president of the Return to the Homeland Great Mission, Camila Fabri, and the mothers of the children.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Interior, Justice, and Peace on Friday, “a total of 194 repatriates were received by citizen security agencies,” and the corresponding protocols were applied, which include medical care.

An indescribable emotion
Gretsimar Lobaton, mother of Mariangela Susej Lobaton, one of the children rescued by the Venezuelan government, expressed feeling an indescribable emotion and thanked President Nicolás Maduro for the return of her daughter.
“I started receiving calls from people wanting to help me—I am grateful to everyone who contributed so that my girl could come back, I am happy, this emotion is beyond explanation,” she said.
She recounted how she lived months of anguish, not knowing if she would see her daughter again, which caused her a lot of stress and despair. “Every day I worried a lot, but I had the hope that, sooner or later, I would have my daughter back home,” she expressed.
The Venezuelan government has demanded that the US return the children who have been separated from their families to be sent to detention centers or foster homes.
On July 21, President Nicolás Maduro reiterated his commitment to continue efforts to rescue the minors held in the US. The number of children at that time was 29.
On that occasion, he said, “There is no explanation, no excuse, no reason to kidnap a child. Not race, nor religion, nor nationality. Perhaps, here on earth, there is no justice for some, but there is a God. We will not rest for a second until all the children are here, safe, happy, in the arms of their parents.”
