This Friday, September 19th, starting at 7:00 PM local time, the University of Havana steps will host the highly anticipated Silvio Rodríguez concert, with which the Cuban singer-songwriter will officially kick off his 2025 South American tour.

Public access to the steps of the school was opened at 4:00 PM. Within minutes, a massive crowd of admirers gathered for this show, considered a historic event, both for its cultural significance and the promised artistic quality.
The singer-songwriter will be accompanied by an outstanding group of musicians who will reinforce the richness of the sound proposal: Jorge Aragón (piano), Maykel Elizarde (tres), Niurka González (flutes and clarinet), Rachid López (guitar), Jorge Reyes (double bass), Malva Rodríguez (piano and backing vocals), Oliver Valdés (drums and percussion) and Emilio Vega (vibraphone and percussion).
Silvio himself confirmed the tour on April 10th via his social media accounts: “Dear friends, I’m Silvio Rodríguez. And this brief meeting is to announce an upcoming tour of Latin America, five countries, which will take place between the end of September and the beginning of November 2025.”
The tour, titled “Silvio Rodríguez Tour 2025 – South America Live!”, will include concerts in Santiago, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Lima, and Bogotá. This marks the artist’s return to regional stages after a three-year absence and within the framework of more than 50 years of musical career.
The singer-songwriter announced that in his performances he will perform pieces from his latest album, “Quería saber,” as well as classics such as “Ojalá,” “La maza,” and “Unicornio.”
One of the highlights will be his return to Chile, a country he hasn’t visited since 2018. This time, he will perform at the Movistar Arena in Santiago on September 29th, October 1st, 5th, and 6th, all at 9:00 PM local time, which has already generated enormous excitement on social media and in local media.
The performances in Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, and Colombia will follow the same format: iconic venues and a repertoire that spans from his beginnings to his most recent productions.
