On Monday, the secretary general of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) said that a total of 235,722 assemblies were held in the streets throughout the country for the formation of the Bolivarian Integral Base Committees (CBBIs). The announcement was made during the party’s weekly press conference.
In this regard, he noted that “today, we can say that the report that has arrived from all the states of Venezuela is extraordinary; all that remains are some forms that come from very far away, but we have already begun the process of transcription, evaluation, and processing of all the information.”
He added that now the CBBIs are “the fundamental base of the Bolivarian Revolution, which are the bases of our party—organized, meeting, debating, [and] selecting in an extraordinary exercise of participatory and protagonist democracy.”
Diosdado Cabello stated that “the people are the protagonists and assume the leadership of the new era and structure of the PSUV.”
He also affirmed that the PSUV is currently an example of a revolutionary party throughout the world.
He said that President Nicolás Maduro ordered the fulfillment of three fundamental tasks entrusted to the new structures of the Bolivarian Comprehensive Base Committees, which must be completed this week in preparation for the fourth National Popular Consultation to be held on November 23.
He added that the first task is to support the consolidation of all community councils, community circuits, and communes in addition to firmly supporting the success of the upcoming popular consultation.
Cabello then said that “if we were able to mobilize more than four million Venezuelans for this day, then those two million who remain as the vanguard in the streets of the country have the task of mobilizing our people to exercise their sovereign right outlined in this Constitution, [and] approved by the people, as part of participatory and protagonist democracy.”
The Chavista leader recalled that there are almost 36,000 projects and that the people will decide where they want to go to vote or where it is most convenient for them to exercise their right to vote.

Cabello continued: “The second task is to prepare for the comprehensive defense of your street, your neighborhood, your community, with a single slogan: peace, peace, and peace. Let’s build our peace, a true peace with justice.”
Cabello noted that “the third task is to consolidate the team on the street, point and circle in each street [the] number of supporters; establish how many friends we have on the ground, how many families there are, in order to establish a working circle of the integral base committee in each street, through a broad plan of knocking on doors, touching hearts and looking each other in the eyes.”
