Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Jorge Arreaza, reported this Saturday that on instructions from the head of state, Nicolás Maduro, starting next week the national government will launch a special operation of “Plan Vuelta a la Patria” using Conviasa airplanes.

Arreaza stressed that the special operations of “Vuelta a la Patria” will also be by land, to facilitate the return of thousands of compatriots from countries in South America, many of them fleeing xenophobia, the arbitrary eviction from their residences, persecution and now coronavirus.

The minister for communication, Jorge Rodríguez, in prior statements specified that a total of 23,822 Venezuelans have entered the national territory through the border area in search of protection against the advance of Covid-19.
At a press conference this Saturday, Rodríguez specified that 13,828 returned from Táchira; 4,517 to Zulia; 3,792 to Apure -all bordering Colombia- and 1,685 entered through the Bolívar state, in the south of the country bordering Brazil.
