Venezuelan Foreign Affairs Minister, Jorge Arreaza, denounced the Colombian government, led by Ivan Duque, for continuing with its tendentious lies against Venezuela and President Nicolas Maduro. “They are a fake news factory. A government expert in false positives in all its forms,” Arreaza said.
Such an assertion was made by the Foreign Affairs Minister in response to information released by the official Twitter account of MigraciĂłn Colombia, @MigracionCol, accusing Venezuela of restricting the access of migrants coming back to Venezuela through the “SimĂłn BolĂvar” International Bridge, in Tachira state, escaping from the Covid-19 catastrophe in South America and also from xenophobia against Venezuelans.
“What else can be expected from the government of Colombia? Always the tendentious lie. They are a Fake news factory. A government expert in false positives in all its forms. In Venezuela we receive our compatriots with the most rigorous biosafety protocols,” Arreaza wrote on his Twitter account.

The Chancellor based his words on the journalistic work of Telesur’s correspondent, Madelein GarcĂa, reporting in real time that Venezuelan authorities were carrying out disinfection work on the “SimĂłn BolĂvar” International Bridge, this Friday, to contain the spread of the Covid-19 virus, which plagues humanity.
Is Venezuela closing the SimĂłn BolĂvar Bridge? Migration [Department of] Colombia lied, here is the truth, “today AUG 21 when it is 8:00 am, we are disinfecting to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and later give income to our compatriots,” the journalist published with a video of health workers disinfecting the bridge to stop the spread of the virus. More than 10% of Covis-19 cases in Venezuela are from migrants entering from Colombia.

For his part, the Attorney General of the Republic Tarek William Saab, said the meeting that took place in Bogotá, between the President of Colombia, Iván Duque and representatives of the US government, was to expand the aggression against Venezuela.
“They went to talk to increase the attacks against Venezuela, at a time when Trump is, according to polls, in a situation of very low popularity for the November elections,” said the prosecutor.
In the information released by Madelein GarcĂa from teleSUR, she presents how the person in charge of migration in Colombia blatantly lied to a Colombian new outlet:

“While Venezuelans entered the SimĂłn BolĂvar Bridge, the Colombia Migration Director, blatantly on “RCN Colombia” declared that the border was closed,” GarcĂa said in a thread of tweets.

Next, the journalist revealed recordings of how journalists from the Colombian side recorded the alleged closure. However, the images they managed to take were those of Venezuelan nationals entering Venezuela as they usually do.
