The President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced at a meeting with workers that social media network Facebook censored three posts from Venezuela’s official Facebook page, which explained the scientific advances that Venezuela has made with the DR-10 molecule, an antiviral found to be very effective against the coronavirus.
“They have censored me, they not only attack us with blockades, but also because of the DR-10 molecule. Venezuela has done what other countries do, develop studies to combat the coronavirus, and these millionaires (from Facebook) come (and censor us),” said President Maduro.
Last Sunday, the President of Venezuela announced that a group of Venezuelan researchers from the Venezuelan Center for Scientific Research (IVIC) identified and isolated a molecule, belonging to a medicinal plant, that inhibits SARS-CoV-2 by 100%, according to preclinical studies.
He noted that the DR-10 molecule is a highly effective antiviral component against the novel coronavirus. The scientists developed the drug based on the molecule DR-10, a ursolic acid triterpene, which acts effectively on the viral replication of SARS-Cov-2 in in vitro culture.
