The Foreign Minister of Venezuela, Yván Gil, met with the secretary general of the United Nations (UN), António Guterres, whom he asked for greater commitment in the face of recent attacks against Venezuela perpetrated by the United States government.
Through social media, Minister Gil reported this Saturday, September 28, that he ratified the request of Guterres and the UN agencies for greater commitment to the mandate and principles embodied in the United Nations Charter and greater support for Venezuela’s institutions in the fight to defend peace.
He also said that he had informed the UN Secretary General of recent violations of international law committed by the United States government against the people and institutions of Venezuela.
He added that these actions by the US government have been defeated by the Venezuelan people “in a demonstration of their strong will to advance in peace and achieve the prosperity they deserve.”
Earlier, during his participation in the 79th UN General Assembly, Minister Gil condemned the actions carried out by the United States to threaten Venezuela’s sovereignty.
Are Venezuelan Opposition Leaders Looking for ‘Alternatives’?
Foreign Minister Gil warned that hate speech is being spread by the United States and terrorism is being promoted in its various forms, including attacks, assassination attempts, and aggression against the peoples of the world.
In this regard, he mentioned the website “ Ya Casi Venezuela,” through which far-right groups based in the United States are collecting funds to finance a mercenary operation against Venezuela with the assistance of mercenary boss Erik Prince.
