Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro met with thousands of delegates who attended the Congress of the Bolivarian Historical Bloc, held in Caracas, and called on them to unite all forces beyond political parties and also with the youth movements.
At the meeting held in the Cuartel de la Montaña on Sunday, November 17, President Maduro was accompanied by Vice President Delcy Rodríguez, National Assembly President Jorge Rodríguez, Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello, Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino, and Planning Minister Ricardo Menéndez.

President Maduro recalled that the definition of the Historic Bloc was conceived by Commander Hugo Chávez. He described it as a new historic Bolivarian bloc, Christian, popular, democratic, anti-imperialist, anti-colonialist and profoundly Chavista, because to say Chavista is to say a synthesis of the historic struggles of five centuries.
He pointed out that “today more than ever, in the diversity of who we are in the social, political and partisan spheres, we are united by Bolívar and our definition of who we are in this 21st century: we are Chavistas.”
Together the delegates will approve a roadmap that will allow the country to implement the plan for the country and the 7T (Seven Transformations) that the people and workers debated during hundreds of thousands of grassroots assemblies over the next 30 years.
He added that the Venezuelan people participated massively in the Congress and consciously took on the challenge of defending the country against those who call for invasions or try to appropriate its resources.
He stressed that the Venezuelan nation confronts “a historical oligarchic block in decline that calls for the surrender of our history and our wealth. But here we are, those who have defended and fought to recover and rebuild it.”
The five generations and seven political organizations that have contributed to the construction of the Bolivarian Revolution participated at the National Congress of the Bolivarian Historical Bloc.
With a clear grassroots orientation, a space built from the communes, more than 3.5 million Venezuelans participated in the debates, a milestone in terms of direct and participatory democracy.
President Maduro commented that these were the most extensive, participatory and free debates convened by the Chavista forces in 25 years.
He made it clear that imperialism wants to kill him but it is not about one man, it is not about him but about the ideas of a people that will always emerge victorious. “They have not been able and will not be able to defeat this revolutionary force that we are,” he asserted, urging all revolutionaries to practice a constant review and renewal of their methods.
During the national debate sessions of the Congress, there were 1,052 presentations, and 1,634 proposals were made for the profound transformation of the country. In addition, 101,587 grassroots assemblies were held, in which 3.6 million people participated and more than 500,000 presentations and debates took place.
