The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, stated that “Venezuela has its own military doctrine, with a strategic and defensive concept,” after a meeting with the commanders of the superior tactical units of the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB).
In this regard, he emphasized that, through the popular vote, “we assumed the Bolivarian character of our republic. Today we are remembering good memories, 26 years since that victory that opened the paths of the 21st century.
“It was said many times, and so it was, that the Venezuelan 20th century started late,” he added, highlighting that the people, with their conscience, elected “the Supreme Commander Hugo Chávez as president of Venezuela.”
“With Chávez, the people came to power and started a new era of emancipation in our Homeland,” he stressed.
He reported that, in the meeting with the FANB commanders held on Friday, December 6, “we drew up plans for defending our territorial integrity in the face of the constant threat from extremist and violent sectors.”
“In the bicentennial era, we have an FANB that has been re-founded and is contantly improving,” he added. “Today, with clarity and firmness, we can tell the world that our FANB is neither imperialist nor imposed, nor is it an imitation of any other armed forces… the FANB is the greatest guarantee of security, peace, and tranquility for the people.”

The president urge the FANB officers to study and to prepare themselves in the knowledge of Venezuelan military doctrine, and to recognize that this military doctrine is not foreign or imperialist.
“If at any moment in the republican life of Venezuela, after the first independence day more than 200 years ago, the love for the homeland and the absolute will to defend our rights to peace, the future, and life were put to the test, it is this moment in our republican life,” he emphasized.
The vice president’s visit to China
President Maduro highlighted that Vice President Delcy Rodríguez’s current official visit to China is aimed at completing a high-level agenda, “signing agreements within the framework of the All-Weather Strategic Partnership.”
On Thursday, December 5, President Maduro held a virtual meeting with Vice President Rodríguez, who provided an overview of her work in the People’s Republic of China.
