President Maduro: “We Will Send a Conviasa Flight to Bring Home 200 Venezuelans Stranded in the US” – Social Media Outroar

March 23, 2020

A total of 200 Venezuelan citizens who are stranded at a United States airport in the context of the new coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19) have requested a humanitarian flight from the government of Venezuela to return to the country.

“Children, the elderly, pregnant women, parents separated from their children and relatives who depend on many of us to face the Covid-19 situation,” reads part of the statement with the petition that circulates on social networks and has been replicated by the journalist Luis Olavarrieta.

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, announced this Sunday that the Conviasa flight that will repatriate the 200 Venezuelans who are stranded in US airports is already being managed through the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, as part of the prohibitive measures Covid-19 in the world.

“They cannot deny that we are going for humanitarian reasons,” affirmed the National President, responding to the request made by Venezuelans who are in need on gringo soil through social networks.

“I have instructed Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza to prepare a Conviasa plane, make all the arrangements and to go find the 200 Venezuelans who are stranded in the United States,” he said.

Twitter out-roar

In this regard, several users of digital platforms have ruled on this request. “Sure, we already sent them a Conviasa plane. Well, well, thank goodness that the sanctions only affected Maduro,” said tweeter @HenSaCa.

Claro, ya les mandamos el avión de Conviasa… Ooh wait… ¡Esta sancionada!

Vaya, vaya, menos mal que las sanciones solo afectaban a Maduro…

“What happened with the fake ambassador @carlosvecchio, won’t he help you? Oh yes, he is an ornamental one and in addition they requested Conviasa to be sanctioned. Ask @jguaido to pick you up by telepathy,” wrote Anita @anitamontagne.

“#Alert, comrade Luis Olavarrieta requested president @NicolasMaduro to activate the “Vuelta a la Patria” program for those Venezuelans trapped in #USA. Why are they wishing to come back? Aren’t we in an humanitarian crisis? Isn’t everything cool in the USA? What about the sanctions on Conviasa?” wrote Gabo @gabodevzla.

¿Y las sanciones a Conviasa? https://t.co/Fo9INj8M4Z
