Venezuela Has Defeated US Interventionism: Evo Morales

January 11, 2019

We are not a single country, we are part of a democratic and cultural revolution, Bolivian President Evo Morales said.

Venezuela has overcome the United States’ sanctions and interventionist attempts, Bolivian President Evo Morales said Wednesday at the Military Academy in Caracas.

“Venezuela defeated US interventionism. I must express my respect and admiration of that revolutionary, professional, military people and congratulate the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB ),” Morales said.

The U.S. threats of military intervention are fueled by their lust for the rich nation’s natural resources, the Bolivian state head said, emphasizing the importantrole citizens play in safeguarding these resources.

The socialist president thanked the nation for extending an invitation to President Nicolas Maduro’s inauguration on January 10 and went on to reaffirm Bolivia’s support to their South American neighbor.

Morales told the gathering of Venezuelan and international delegates, “Venezuela is not alone, remember the struggle of the Cuban people of Fidel, almost 50 years alone, our respect for the Cuban people, not only Venezuela, there are several presidents and social movements that do not allow us to feel alone, defeating any aggression of a political nature, military, economic and Venezuela will defeat the American empire.

“We are not a single country, we are several presidents and social movements that are soldiers of our democratic and cultural revolution,” said Morales after being honored with the prestigious award, Doctorate Honoris Causa by the Bolivarian University of Venezuela.

Morales is the only person to have received more than 20 Honoris Causa doctorates awarded by various universities in Latin America and around the world.
