Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro announced this Thursday, May 21, that the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb) will carry out military drills on the island of La Orchila, located in the Caribbean Sea.
President Maduro explained that during said exercises missile tests were carried out, in the face of a possible attack by the United States regime on Iranian oil ships that are heading towards our country with a cargo of much needed gasoline to ease fuel shortages affecting millions of Venezuelans as a direct result of illegal US sanctions.

“We witnessed military exercises on the island of La Orchila, with the test of maximum precision missile systems for the defense of waters and coasts,” he said during a working meeting that he held with members of the Superior General Staff and commanders of the Redi and Zodi of the Fanb.
He also added that on that day “tests were carried out on the (Russian) Buk missile, absolute precision, a powerful missile.”

It should be remembered that the government of Iran sent five oil tankers loaded with gasoline to Venezuela, to solve the shortage of fuel affecting Venezuelans for the last 9 weeks, due to US sanctions preventing the importation of the required supplies for the manufacture of this fuel and spare parts to repair Venezuelan refineries.
Venezuelan far-right leaders have asked the international community to prevent these ships from entering Venezuela, replicating the same US propaganda launched by main stream media following Washington’s instructions.
Such is the case of the fugitive from justice who claims to be a consular minister of the embassy of Venezuela to the United States, Gustavo Marcano, who published on his Twitter account: “The entry of ships from Iran into Venezuelan territory is not authorized by the assembly. It is illegal and part of Maduro’s narcoterrorist operations. The region must cooperate with the legitimate government of Venezuela, to prevent these ships from entering the country. ”
