Foreign Minister Yván Gil described Israeli counterpart Gideon Saar—who accused Venezuela of alleged ties to Hezbollah, Hamas and the Houthis in South America—as a “war criminal and a genocidaire.”
“What he should be doing is not mentioning Venezuela, but preparing to be judged for the crimes his government is committing against the Palestinian people,” Foreign Minister Gil stated in a post on his Telegram channel.
The head of Bolivarian diplomacy emphasized that Venezuela is an independent and sovereign nation. “The name Venezuela is too grand for your filthy mouth and hands stained with innocent blood. We are an independent people—a people who fight for their sovereignty, who liberate, who defend equality, human rights and international law.”
“You,” he added, “represent barbarism and the systematic violation of all the norms that govern civilized humanity. We are not interested in your opinion, nor are we affected by your desperate rhetoric.”

Finally, Foreign Minister Yván Gil dismissed Saar’s rhetoric, focusing instead on what he called the inevitable path to justice: “The only thing that matters is that, sooner rather than later, you will have to answer to international justice.”
