Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez began her official visit to India, where she met with her Indian counterpart Jagdeep Dhankhar.
Rodríguez arrived in India on Thursday, October 24, after participating in the 16th BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia, from October 22 to 24.
As part of her tour, she met with Dhankhar, with whom she discussed the bilateral economic cooperation.
“The discussions between the two leaders focused on strengthening economic cooperation, improving ties between peoples, promoting yoga and Ayurveda, and strengthening bilateral relations,” reported the Office of the Vice President of India.
Rodríguez, who also heads the Venezuelan Petroleum Ministry, met with her Indian counterpart and representatives of the private company Reliance Industries, where proposed oil projects between India and Venezuela were discussed.

“It was an extraordinary visit. We are making progress in diplomacy, a geopolitical diplomacy of peace,” Vice President Rodríguez said to the press.
Earlier, the spokesperson for the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal, said to the press that the visit of the Venezuelan vice president would provide “an opportunity to further strengthen the bilateral ties between India and Venezuela.”
Venezuela and India have bilateral cooperation in trade, investments, alternative energies, pharmaceuticals, and energy sectors.
