Caracas (OrinocoTribune.com)—Venezuelan authorities condemned in the strongest terms the attacks perpetrated by “Israel” in South Beirut and its surroundings, “causing an atrocious massacre that left at least 25 people dead and 108 wounded, in addition to the assassination of the political leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, secretary general of Hezbollah.”
The statement was released on Saturday, September 28, by Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Affairs Yván Gil.
In the statement, Venezuela added that “Israel acts in alliance with the United States through false peace negotiations and deceptive and endless diplomatic maneuvers, while orchestrating and executing macabre plans to assassinate.”
Full unofficial translation of the statement is provided below:
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela condemns, in the strongest terms, the attacks perpetrated by Israel in and around South Beirut on September 28, 2024, causing an atrocious massacre that left at least 25 people dead and 108 wounded, in addition to the assassination of the political leader of the Lebanese militia, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary General of Hezbollah.
We warn that Israel acts in alliance with the United States through false peace negotiations and deceptive and endless diplomatic maneuvers, while orchestrating and executing macabre plans to assassinate, progressively and by piecemeal, political leaders and entire populations, initially in the Gaza Strip and the Occupied West Bank, and now extending to Lebanon and threatening to expand to other countries such as Syria, Iraq, Iran, and Jordan.
This bloody operation by the Zionist regime against unarmed people in various towns in countries in the region continues to show Israel’s face of barbarism. It is a cruel practice of cold-blooded murder, carried out for decades, which has intensified against the people of Palestine this past year and has extended to Lebanon in recent weeks.
We condemn, once again, before the international community, the policy of extermination led by Benjamin Netanyahu, leader of 21st century terrorism in the Middle East, who, in his wild obsession and madness, continues to escalate against the Palestinian people and their brave resistance, in addition to the dangerous phase of war that he has undertaken against the defenseless population of neighboring countries.
Venezuela urges world leaders to take immediate action to stop the advance of this dangerous terrorist escalation and reiterates to the Lebanese people profound feelings of solidarity, brotherhood and human commitment in the face of these difficult circumstances.

2 weeks of massacres
More than 1,000 people have been killed and some 6,300 have been injured in the Zionist entity’s airstrikes in Lebanon over the past 12 days, Lebanese interim Health Minister Firas Abiad reported.
“From September 16 to 27, 1,030 people died, including 56 women and 87 children. The total number of injured during this period is 6,352,” Abiad said at a press conference.
Since October 8, 2023, the Zionist regime’s attacks have claimed the lives of 1,640 people in Lebanon, including 104 children and 194 women, and injured 8,408 others.
As for the death toll from the September 27 Zionist airstrike attack on a southern suburb of Beirut that killed the head of the Lebanese Resistance movement Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, the minister confirmed 11 dead and 108 wounded.
Since Monday, September 23, the Zionist regime has been carrying out massive airstrikes on Lebanon following an unprecedented terrorist operation using pagers and walkie-talkies that took the lives of at least 26 people and injured more than 3,000.
The Zionist regime’s actions in the region have created an environment of escalation and there is concern that the conflict could turn into a regional one, as the Zionist entity threatens to launch similar operations in Syria, Iraq, Jordan, and even Iran.
