Caracas (OrinocoTribune.com)—The Venezuelan government welcomed 559 citizens repatriated from the United States on two flights this week. Meanwhile, officials decry that over 60 children remain separated from their families by US authorities.
The second flight of the week carrying repatriated migrants arrived on Friday, September 12, at SimĂłn BolĂvar International Airport in MaiquetĂa, La Guaira state. These arrivals on flights 66 and 67 of the “Return to the Homeland Plan” brought the total number of citizens returned home to over 12,000 since the program resumed in February.
Upon arrival, returnees receive comprehensive care from Venezuelan authorities, including healthcare, psychological, criminal, and socioeconomic checks.

On Friday, the president of the Return to the Homeland plan, Camilla Fabri, welcomed 300 nationals. The group included 54 women, 230 men, five girls, and 11 boys. Among them were four children rescued from forcible separation from their relatives by the US government.
Fabri explained that an initial agreement stipulated that nine children should have arrived. However, only four arrived on Flight 67. The remaining five, while no longer with foster families, are now in the custody of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and their arrival is expected soon.
She reiterated that Venezuelan families are still waiting for the return of over 60 young boys and girls that the US government continues to separate from their families.
The effort to rescue these children is part of the Venezuelan government’s actions through the Return to the Homeland Plan. These efforts continue despite recent US military threats and aim to guarantee the safe return of Venezuelan migrants who, the government states, are persecuted and detained as criminals by racist US policies.
Earlier in the week, Flight 66 arrived with a group of 259 Venezuelan migrants repatriated from the state of Texas. This group included 214 men, 38 women, four girls, and three boys.
The Venezuelan government reiterates its commitment to the protection and well-being of its citizens, facilitating their return and ensuring they receive necessary care upon arriving in the country, as instructed by President Nicolás Maduro and Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello.
