Copa America: Vinotinto Beats Bolivia and Ensures its Passage to Quarterfinals

Venezuela (La Vinotinto) beat Bolivia 3-1 on Saturday at Estadio Mineirao in Belo Horizonte, in the closing day for Group A of Copa América Brasil 2019.

With this victory La Vinotinto added five points and secured its classification to the quarterfinals in second place, after the victory of Brazil over Peru that leaves the host as leader of the group with seven points and the “Blanquirroja” third with four, waiting for the closure of the other groups. Bolivia, on the other hand, bid farewell to the contest without adding points.

Darwin Machis, a native of Tucupita, Delta Amacuro, was the author of the first two goals and the Valencian Josef Martinez, the third against Bolivia. The next match of the Venezuelans will be on Friday, June 28, at the Maracaná Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, celebrated on Saturday the resounding victory of the Venezuelan soccer team, against his similar from Bolivia, with a tweet.

“Up, Venezuela! We are full of joy and passion for this great victory. With 3 extraordinary goals our undefeated warriors vinotinto secured the classification to the Quarter of Finals of the #CopaAmerica Congratulations!”, the Venezuelan head of state posted in a message through the social network Twitter.
