The United States is seeking to turn Edmundo González Urrutia (EGU) into a 2.0 version of Juan Guaidó, through a bill presented to the Senate so that the country officially recognizes the former presidential candidate of the Democratic Unity Roundtable (MUD) as the supposed “elected president of Venezuela.”
US Republican Senator Rick Scott announced that he will submit a bill to the Senate to have the United States recognize EGU as the “elected president of Venezuela.” So far the congressional website of the far-right US politician has no news about this resolution.
“Venezuelans have sent a powerful message: no more dictatorship. It is time for Biden, Lula and Petro to recognize Edmundo González as president-elect,” said the US senator during the rally organized by the Venezuelan right in Miami last Saturday, August 17.
During his speech, Scott threatened the re-elected President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, by saying that “his days in power are over.”
He also added that those who intend to ” attack or imprison” far-right leaders María Corina Machado or Edmundo González “should think twice.”
“Maduro’s thugs should think twice before attempting to attack or imprison Maria Corina Machado or President-elect Edmundo Gonzalez,” the US senator warned in the usual supremacist tone of most US politicians.
As the days go by, the imperialist script is repeated and they continue to dust off old failed strategies to destabilize Venezuela.
Venezuela’s Attorney General: María Corina Machado May Be Charged at Any Time
Just as they are now seeking to self-proclaim a new Juan Guaidó, with version 2.0 represented by EGU, days ago they announced the “idea” of nominating María Corina for the Nobel Peace Prize, just as they did in 2019 with the former opposition deputy of Guaido.
