The Minister of Communication and Information, Jorge Rodríguez, confirmed on Tuesday night, May 19, 131 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Venezuela, of which 21 are local cases, while 110 are imported.
After a working meeting in Miraflores Palace, in Caracas, the Minister reported that among the 21 there are 16 cases that are community transmission and 5 of them come from contact with international travelers.

He explained that these cases are located: 2 in Lara, 3 in Falcón, 3 in Mérida, 1 Sucre, 1 Barinas, 1 Miranda, 1 Aragua, 8 Apure and 1 Monagas.
With the 131 new cases, the total number rises to a total of 749 throughout the national territory.
Out of the 110 imported cases: 81 are Venezuelans who arrived from Colombia, 6 from Ecuador and 23 from Brazil.
He mentioned that to date 43,089 people have entered the country, and 407 of them are positive for Covid-19. The recent spike in cases reported in Venezuela are a direct consequence of the Covid-19 catastrophe in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru unlike the humanitarian approach of the Boliviarian revolution that, in the middle of US imperialistic attacks, has prioritized the health of many Venezuelan migrants stranded or wanting to return to their homeland.
