Earlier, in January, the Islamic State (IS) claimed responsibility for an attack that killed a Chinese national in northern Afghanistan’s Takhar province.
The group has also claimed responsibility for a similar attack in which Afghanistan’s Acting Minister for Refugees and Repatriation was killed in December last year.
