The Vice President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, thanked the government of China for the support provided to combat the economic blockade imposed by the United States.
“China is a true economic power and an example for the whole world (…) We highlight the solidarity it has had with Venezuela in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic ,” Rodríguez said Sunday in a commemorative event for the 46th anniversary of bilateral relations between the two countries.

The Chavista leader noted that the friendship of the Asian country with Venezuela continues to strengthen every day and ratified her gratitude for all the support offered to the South American nation, with the delivery of humanitarian aid, and for standing with Venezuelans.
For his part, the Chinese ambassador to Venezuela, Li Baorong, highlighted the strategic partnership between Beijing and Caracas, which translates into benefits for both peoples.
“In recent years, we have managed to consolidate the strategic partnership for the benefit of the two countries, despite the geographical distance, which has not impeded cooperation,” said the Chinese diplomat.

Li explained that China firmly supports all the efforts made by the government of Venezuela for peace and development and added that both parties are determined to work to promote and implement the agreements reached by the leaders of both countries to achieve victory against the coronavirus pandemic.
China has repeatedly ratified its support for Venezuela, and has rejected the coup plan led by the United States and several of its regional allies to recognize the self-proclaimed as “president in charge” Juan Guaidó, former president of the National Assembly (AN) Venezuelan – declared in contempt since 2016 – and to exert economic pressure against the Caribbean country.
In this regard, Beijing denounces Washington for openly seeking to overthrow the government of President Nicolás Maduro, for which it promises to “defend the interests” of the Venezuelan people and increase bilateral ties.
